Come Get Fit - Walk, Run, and Have Fun!
Our 8th annual 5K walk/run will take place
again this year at Bruce Park in Greenwich,
CT. on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.
(START OF RACE) Participants including
runners/walkers/families and children can
travel the course that circles around a series
of lovely ponds, rolling hills, and naturally
wooded areas that overlook the Indian
Harbor. Even a little tots track will be set up
on the "picnic area" lawn. Refreshments
will be available at the end of the race as
well as prizes for First Place (Male, Female,
Senior, Adult with child in stroller, and
Young Child 12 yrs. old or younger)
finishers.
Proceeds:
Proceeds from the benefit event and sale of
John's book will go directly go into the John
D. Zumbo Memorial Scholarship Fund
(managed by GSA), established in 2006 in
memory of John's love of health and fitness.
Scholarship Awards:
The scholarship is awarded to a student who
is pursuing higher education with an interest
in a fitness or health-related course of study,
including physical therapy, medicine,
nutrition, sports training, or other supportive
fields.
Directions:
I-95 (New England Thruway) take Exit 4
(Indian Field Road).
From Stamford turn left at end of exit across
bridge. Bruce Park is straight ahead. Park
around lakes. Race starts on Woods
Rd.(picnic area).
From NY turn right at end of exit. Bruce
Park is straight ahead. Park around lakes.
Race starts in picnic area (Woods Road).
